Earlier this evening I accepted a job as an 8th grade ELA teacher at College Park Middle School. Looks like I'll be starting a new blog soon because I finally have officially become "Ms. Adair." I did it. I'm a "real" teacher.

Things kids say
"I'm really smart...but I am not a stereotype."
"The class was sharing something special about themselves. One second-grader spoke up and said" When I grow up, I want to be a penis!" All the other kids were shocked. "What's a penis!" "How do you do that?" Finally Mr. Fox and I determined that what she really wanted to be when she grew up was a PIANIST!"
"I was having a boy read to me from Fox in Socks by Dr. Seuss. At this part: "Knox on fox in socks in box.Socks on Knox and Knox in box.Fox in socks on box on Knox"...He didn't understand how to read it, so each time he read the word Knox he would say "cocks." It was really awkward and funny for me, even though he didn't know what he was saying, but I was quick to correct him with that one!"
